I’m proud to announce Grüün’s first release the “Krauthop EP”, which appears on the venerable iD.EOLOGY netlabel. Grüün is a side-project of mine, focussing on German Hip-Hop.
“When it starts budding and turning green all around, it does not only put a smile on a nature-lover’s face. It also means that it’s about time to get your rooms vented, to take out the trash and to generally spruce up the place.
Seasonably, Grüün a.k.a. Comfort Fit and tide roll up their sleeves and start doing the long-overdue spring-cleaning in the rapgame with their debut release on iD.EOLOGY. Boredom, beat-cliches, mack-attitudes and a lack of imagination they just sweep aside and furbish hip-hop to high shine with their homegrown polish. Complex, refined and trippy, straightfoward and headnoddingly fat, electronically creaky and jazzily dodgy, and mostly all of the above at once are the beats with which Comfort Fit puts the listener on a trip and supports the raps of tide. The latter likes to tell sometimes thoughtful, sometimes entertaining anecdotes from a life inbetween bar, bong and buddhism and, as a side effect, proves that one doesn’t have to be a gangsta to pump out some pretty hard and dynamic flows.
So after all, this is a release for everyone. For everyone who shares our soft spot for individuality and originality. And of course for everyone who knows just how to appreciate good entertainment for heart, mind and balls.”
Error Broadcast is a new netlabel dedicated to experimental hip-hop. Their first release, the “Bag of Nothingness” compilation features two Comfort Fit tracks, but that’s not the only reason why you should download this release immediatly! Great artists from the US, Russia, Japan, Germany and a lot more joined the Error Broadcast Collective to create this perfect debut.
“After months of silence, we are proud to announce the relaunch of Tokyo Dawn Records. So many things changed in the last years, the music scene and the financial system collapsed, the internet exploded. We think it’s the perfect time for our musical comeback.
We uploaded our back catalogue to several music communities all over the net and you’ll also find us at most popular social communities. Enjoy our old records and get in touch with us! We’re always looking for promising producers and musicians, video artists, promoters, bookers, graphic designers or simply people giving us feedback.
Give us a few days to wake up and get everything done, new releases from Comfort Fit and Portformat are soon waiting for you.”
Just found these nice mix-tapes from DJ SYNFLOOD, download them here. He seems to like Comfort Fit and has the amazing ability to get the latest Comfort Fit tracks before Boris even thought of creating them. ;) A wizard? black magic? don’t know, but that guy is definitely worth a visit, here’s one of his latest mixes (big file!):
DJ SYNFLOOD – Airflow
“It’s focussing on the LA Beat scene, but has also elements of hip-hop, techno/house, grime/dubstep, jazz and broken beats in it… a quite pluralistic approach…”
